We are a community band working in the community for the community. Our mission is to promote music making for the enjoyment of all, and at the same time provide a platform for amateur and student players.
The band consists of about 35 instrumentalists - woodwind, brass and percussion. All members bring their own talents to help achieve our objectives:
To facilitate the practice of instrumental music making
To provide an ensemble playing platform
To organise performances for the benefit of the community
Our charity events help to raise money for worthy causes:
South East Leeds Foodbank
Yorkshire Air Ambulance
Joseph Lillywhite's Journey
Hospices: Martin House, St Gemma’s, Sue Ryder Wheatfields.
Calverley Methodists (fund raiser for the church)
The Riley Smith Hall Trust Tadcaster
Church of the Epiphany Leeds
Forgotton Heroes Leeds
Rothwell Day Services
"Absolutely stunning! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! - the band played like a dream, the audience lapped it up, and if the doorstep comments are accurate virtually everyone went home feeling uplifted by the whole occasion. I think you have certainly made your mark in Gipton.
